Good Sorts’ 9-Step Carpet Cleaning Process
Our professional carpet cleaning service cleans, sanitizes, deodorizes and protects your carpet long after we’ve been through – all without the use of harmful chemicals. We’ve put together a 9-step carpet cleaning process to give you a better understanding of how we treat our clients’ carpets and rugs using a method called Hot Water Extraction.
Hot Water Extraction is the most common carpet cleaning technique used by professionals. This carpet cleaning method uses high-pressure hot water to agitate the carpet fibre and dissolve dirt in the carpet. It’s an excellent choice for those with allergies or sensitivities to detergents and shampoos. The steam from the hot water kills bacteria, germs, mould, mildew, and other irritants, another benefit for those with sensitive sinuses. Below is our 9-step carpet cleaning process using the Hot Water Extraction technique.
1. Pre-Inspection
One of our carpet care experts will walk through your space with you to visually inspect your carpet and identify the type of carpet (natural or synthetic) and any potential permanent stains, or pre-existing damage. They will provide you with an evaluation of expected results, as well as listen to any concerns you may have.
2. Commercial Pre-Vacuum
Once we’ve completed our pre-inspection, we will get to work on removing the dry soil and any debris from your carpet. You can pull up to 80% of loose/dry soil from a carpet by using a commercial-grade vacuum. Removing dry soil is one of the most vitally crucial steps in any cleaning process.
3. Pre-Spray
After we’ve removed the dry soil and debris from the carpet, we then apply an enzyme-based solution to break down any fats and oils found in the carpet. We let the solution rest on the carpet so that the product can remove all the fats, oils, and traffic area soil for a more thorough cleaning.
4. Pre-Grooming or Agitation
A professional carpet groomer or bonnet pad is used to further loosen the soil.
5. Pre-Spot
Difficult spots (anything the pre-spray couldn’t treat) are pre-treated with special solutions to increase the chances of removal.
6. Soil Extraction and Rinse
The carpet is then thoroughly rinsed using a powerful extraction cleaning system. This step is where the hot water is applied. To ensure there is no sticky residue left behind we balance the carpets’ pH levels with a neutralizer afterwards. This step leaves your carpet feeling soft and smelling fresh.
7. Post Groom
Your carpet is then groomed with a professional groomer so that the pile of your carpet is standing tall when we leave. Post grooming helps the carpet pile dry faster and in the right position so you can enjoy your carpet soon after we’ve left.
8. Speed Dry
We place high-velocity air movers on the carpet immediately after cleaning to help speed up the drying process so that you can get back into your space soon after the cleaning is finished.
9. Post Cleaning Inspection
Our carpet care expert will walk through your space with you to point out the carpet cleaning results to ensure that you are completely satisfied with the service.
A clean carpet is important for maintaining your space and your guest’s satisfaction in facilities like hotels, multi-family apartment buildings, medical offices, retail stores and more. Dirty carpets can lead to guest complaints, negative reviews and lost sales. This can have a long-term impact on a business or organization.
Carpet cleaning with hot water extraction can help remove soil and keep your carpet looking new for a longer period of time. Combining encapsulation cleaning with annual hot water extraction can make your carpet cleaner than ever.
