Meet Adele
The Good Sorts at Good Sorts is a series that brings our people out from behind the scenes and into the spotlight.
Adele is an Australian-born high school teacher, a doting mother, and a team member at Good Sorts. We sat down with Adele to learn more about her story.
Tell us more about where you grew up.
I grew up in the small coastal town of Old Bar in New South Wales’s mid-north coast, not more than three hours north of Sydney. Old Bar is a tourist town, renowned for the Old Bar bakery, great surfing, fishing by river, beach or rocks, and water sports.
What kept you busy before starting with the team at Good Sorts?
I worked as a high school teacher back home in Australia. Fast forward to now, I’m a mom to my three-year-old son Barron (pictured). He keeps me active, present in the moment and in stitches – he’s such a funny little guy.
What brought you to Kelowna?
I came to Canada on a once-in-a-lifetime overseas vacation with some girlfriends of mine to experience the Calgary Stampede. It was there that I found love and never returned home. I settled in Kelowna for the sunshine.
What is a little-known fact about you?
Get ready for this one. I can’t hold a popsicle stick not to mention lick one. I’d rather throw an ice cream away than have to do that. The way they feel irks me so much!
