Meet Anna

The Good Sorts at Good Sorts is a series that brings our people out from behind the scenes and into the spotlight.

Meet Anna Shcherbakova, our Assistant Operations Coordinator, and one of the calmest and most detail-driven people you’ll ever meet. Originally from Kharkiv, Ukraine, Anna moved to Canada just a few years ago and quickly fell in love with Kelowna’s slower pace, bright sunshine, and the community she’s built here. Today, she plays a key role in supporting our teams, keeping operations running smoothly, and bringing both heart and structure to everything she touches.

We caught up with Anna to learn more about her journey, her love of strong espresso, and what makes her proud to be part of the Good Sorts crew.

Where did you grow up, and what’s one thing you miss (or don’t!) about it?

I was born and raised in Kharkiv, Ukraine — a big, vibrant city with more than 1.4 million people. Moving to Canada about three and a half years ago was a huge shift, and I absolutely fell in love with Kelowna the moment I arrived. The peace and quiet here is such a contrast, and I’ve grown to appreciate the slower, calmer pace. But every now and then, I do miss the energy of a big city that never sleeps — the lights, the crowds, the feeling that something is always happening.

Before joining Good Sorts, what kind of work or experiences shaped your path?

Back home, I managed a couple of small businesses, doing everything from building the brand to handling daily operations. It taught me how to wear many hats, stay organized, and keep things running even on the busiest days — all skills that definitely come in handy here.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

The people. I genuinely enjoy the team I get to work with every day. There’s something special about being part of a group that cares about what they do and supports one another.

What’s one thing you’ve learned since starting that’s surprised you?

How quickly we’re growing — every year is bigger than the last. It’s exciting to watch from the inside and to feel like I’m part of the momentum.

What’s your favourite memory or moment with the Good Sorts crew so far?

Our training meetings — especially quiz time. I look forward to it every month. It’s fun, energizing, and a great way to learn while connecting with the team.

When you’re off the clock, what activities or hobbies do you enjoy most?

I love getting lost in a good romance book. And if it’s summer, you’ll find me golfing almost every weekend. In the winter, I trade the green for the snow and head straight for the slopes to snowboard.

What’s your favourite local spot to eat, unwind, or spend time with friends?

Erica Jane has the best steak in town, hands down. And BNA… their smash burgers have my heart. I’m obsessed with both.

What’s your favourite drink?

Coffee — real coffee. Not the American-style cup that’s half milk and half sweetener! I mean a rich, aromatic espresso that actually wakes you up.

What’s something still on your bucket list?

Visiting the Warner Bros. Studio in London to immerse myself in the magical world of Harry Potter.

If you could travel anywhere tomorrow, where would you go?

Easy — Santorini, Greece.
